what's up with that..

Like the tag line, this is the way to much that I'm willing to share with you, or not.

Health Care, My Two Cents...

Can for-profit companies be a better health care choice than the govt? Then what's wrong with having a public option? The better companies will make their products more attractive... Think FEDEX, UPS... versus USPS...

Personally, from my view point they (health care insurance companies) seem more like T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon, Sprint...

  • For example, why am I settling for a phone service that...
  • Has lousy voice quality
  • Randomly will not complete a dialed called
  • Sporadically will just disconnect my current call
  • Charges too much for the amount of bandwith I'm REALLY using
  • Is more about having features that use up minutes, like call waiting, 3-way calling, call forwarding...
  • Sells services beyond the capacity of their network
opps, different rant...

For profit companies get focused on the 'for profit' and they forget about real service (it is just not that profitable), so my measley dollars can not influence them to improve. In my opinion, no amount of govt oversight, will have any real benefit to me. Instead of my costs going
down or the quality of my choices going up, 'the companies' will not change, my cost will go up (for govt compliance)

Washington, please give me a public option that forces the insurance companies hand to improve or get out of the game.

Gettin techie with it...

Attended the first Lamda Lounge meeting Thursday night. Saw some Groovy and OCAML code, all of it was interesting and I'm totally looking forward to the next meeting. If you're in the St. Louis area and can get by Apistry (might have hosed that spelling) Jan 8th @ 6PM come on by. Thirty plus uber geeks made it Thursday, you might like it. I do.

Me Meme

Via Eric, Via Mario

1. Take a picture of yourself right now.
2. Don’t change your clothes, don’t fix your hair…just take a picture.
3. Post that picture with NO editing.
4. Post these instructions with your picture.

Frown is based on user experience with phone camera. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Deep Thoughts

Okay, so I was mowing the lawn as I do most Saturdays (or Sundays) and I had a thought. I've had the chance to hear about the trickle down or trickle up economics and I've come to a place on that. I believe, in most instances, that a person's choice will entirely be based on if they will be the recipient or provider of the trickle.

New and Expanded

Ok, let's give it another go. I'm spreading out a little and hope to be intensive for a period to see what I think. Maybe someone will happen by and take an idea, or some such, forward from here and change the world, or not.

Hi Ho...

Well I try to write something every two months even when there is not that much to say. Life has been pretty simple, abundant and a little hot lately. Happens every year around this time, what's up with that? Not much to brag or complain about, but thought I'd say 'Hey'. Hey!

As Always...

Wonders never cease...

In a small business coup dennisRadio took Code to Joy's iStone to the next level. Once engineers at dennisRadio got a chance to actually get an iStone in their hands, they quickly felt there was a niche that had been overlooked. In cooperation with CtJ, dennisRadio is proud to announce the open source wiiStone. Less than a tenth the weight or size with all the power and almost all the capabilities of it's bigger brother. This is a form factor that fits todays fast moving pace, finally a true chat breakthrough. Additional details will soon be in the public's hands, stay tuned.
