I choose to follow tweets of many different people. I believe in listening to other view points it help's me be a better contributing member of society. One of the reasons I enjoy the BBC for news, I'm sure.
A person I follow on Twitter posted a comment about a "Categorical Exclusion" granted to BP by the Obama administration and his blog presented a snippet from fringeelements going on about "I smell a rat!"... the proverbial somebody said, somebody said... When I get forwarded trash talking in an email, I'm off to snopes.com or some such place. At LEAST I Google the pertinent points and try to read up on it.
So here's my take... The current Obama administration's MMS did grant the "Exclusion".
From this Washington Post report...
"While the MMS assessed the environmental impact of drilling in the central and western Gulf of Mexico on three occasions in 2007 -- including a specific evaluation of BP's Lease 206 at Deepwater Horizon -- in each case it played down the prospect of a major blowout."In my opinion, it may have been someone in the Obama administration that signed that paper. However, it appears to me that it was based on information / assessments made by the preceding administration.
So... Gosh, would ya give me a break...
